Grand Rounds Simulation
During the NSLC Advanced Medicine & Health Care Program you will call upon your patient care skills to diagnose and treat a patient. Discover your patient’s symptoms, review his/her medical history, and work with your team to create a sophisticated differential diagnosis. Present your findings during the hospital’s Grand Rounds and see if your team’s decisions can withstand the scrutiny of hospital administrators.

Meet Medical Professionals
While at the NSLC, you will meet with and learn from leaders in the medical community and experience the health-care profession firsthand during exclusive site visits. You will visit the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Meet with doctors and medical students involved in the Global Health Initiative.

LEARN FROM DR. RICHARD MARFUGGI

Dr. Richard Marfuggi will lead you through a discussion of advanced concepts in medicine & health care that will prepare you for the rigors of college and medical school. Topics during the NSLC Advanced Medicine & Health Care Program will include:

  • Advanced Anatomy and Physiology (featuring an advanced dissection lab)

While at the NSLC, you will build upon the leadership skills learned during your Medicine & Health Care program. Interactive lectures and small-group workshops are tailored to the Advanced Medicine & Health Care Program and include:

The 2010 Advanced Medicine & Health Care Program brings today’s students together with Northwestern faculty members to explore the future of medicine across our dynamic campus.

Global Health Initiative at the Center for Global Health

The mission of the Global Health Initiative at the Center for Global Health is to support a global educational experience for medical students and enable them to work in under-resourced countries, helping to provide needed health care around the world while encouraging the education and proliferation of primary care physicians.

  Students at the NSLC will work with staff and students of the Global Health Initiative as they explore the challenges of providing health care in developing countries.
